”Hey, Chronos, do you… s-scan anything? ” a blue man wearing a heavy brown coat asks the gadget hes holding.

It was the middle of the day, and the view struck him as something impeccably beautiful, especially on the beach. The sounds of the waves crashing into the bed of sand and pulling some back into the water really gave him a satisfying tingle. But even as it was, he still had to focus on what he needed to find.

”Alright, w-we could just… uh… it should b-be here though… ” the man worriedly concludes. ”Chronos… continue scanning. ”

It says as it activates a green radial light that has hexagonal shapes that continuously moves around to indicate whether or not the substance that he was looking for was there. For hours, there was nothing. He was ready to give up and move to the next temporal location, but thunder strikes him.

The moment he rotates the gadget to point directly at the ocean, the hexagonal shapes start spinning faster.

Taihen smiles. Finally, a lead. But then, it immediately turns into a frown.

”Thats… the ocean… ” he says.

”Al…right I guess… ” he says as he reaches out for his backpack and takes out an expandable oxygen mask and goggles. ”Are there… a-any predators? ”

”I… nevermind… ” he says.

And then, he removes his heavy coat, exposing his deep blue skin. On a nearby tree that resembles an oversized palm tree, he carefully places both his backpack and his coat. After all that, he dives into the sea.

He was met with a number of underwater species that he himself has no idea what to call them. Some resembled a larger version of a goldfish, and some are just sticks that could potentially move around.

At a near distance, he could see a large green crystal shining just beneath some dead corals. Normally, one would only be able to make out a faint glow from afar. But because of a certain ability, hes able to look at something far away as if its just at a short distance. Zooming in, a modern-day man would call it.

His face once again blooms in excitement. Hes close to his goal. If the item hes looking for is there, then this adventure would be his final. But that expression, once again, turns into nervousness as a deep, dark shadow cascade above him. As he looks up, it was an unbelievably large sea mammal that had a size comparable to a ship. He trembles in fear, not knowing if it would eat him or not.

To his luck, the predator just goes past him as if he didn even exist. Maybe he was well hidden? Maybe it was because of the color of his skin? Overall, he didn really mind. as long as hes alive.

”Oh gosh… ” he reacts.

It was beautiful. A large, green crystal was there in the middle of marine life. He swims towards this and prepares the gadget for scanning.

It activates its scanning module once again, trying to look for something the man was grasping for. As he swims around the crystal, he points the hexagonal scanner on the ocean floor. He finds a couple of disturbing objects such as bones and shreds of cloth. Its as if the predator mentioned before had already eaten its full just earlier.

And as he does so, when hes almost done, he hoped that it was there.

”Oh no…. O…kay. ” he says.

Right now, it seems like the item hes looking for isn anywhere near this crystal. And if thats the case, he shouldn really be staying there.

He swims right back up to the shore, taking a breather after removing the contractable oxygen mask.

”Fuck…agh… ” he says as he wears his coat and sits back down beside his bag.

For a short while, he takes a nap. Later, he stands up and prepares to leave the area.

”So… uh… wh-where next? ” he asks.

Annoying as it is, he sits back down and waits for the scan to complete. But, as he does so, a certain alarming sound immediately puts him on high alert. The sound was far, but thanks to his ability to have incredibly sensitive hearing, he is able to hear sounds much farther than a normal person would.

He picks up his stuff and walks away from the sound, panicking as this felt like something was watching him. As the sounds behind him gets closer and closer, he begins to move faster and faster. It sounded like deep, loud steps that shook the ground every single time. As the terror kicks in, he looks back.

”GAH! ” he shouts. ”OH SHIT IM BEING CHASED BY A DINOSAUR! CHRONOS! GET ME OUT OF HERE! ”

He couldn hide nor run anymore. His legs could almost give up. And most terrifying of all, the allosaurus was way faster than him, so it was significantly faster.
